Six Types Of Meditation... There are many different types of meditation. How many? Who knows, but enough to find the right one for you. To start your search, here are six types of meditation you can try.
Six Types Of Meditation...
1. Observation Of Breathing - Could meditation be as simple as watching your breath for a few minutes? Certainly. Relax in the position most comfortable for you, close your eyes, and watch your breathing. When you breathe through your nose, your diaphragm and oxygen are at the base of your lungs. As your mind wanders, focus your attention on the air coming in and out of your nose. Do this for a few minutes or so until you get used to it.
2. Meditate With An Empty Mind - Meditation can create a kind of "objectless awareness" that empties all thoughts from your mind. Techniques for doing this include sitting still, often in the "full lotus" or cross-legged position, and stilling the mind. This can be tricky, especially since any effort seems to be sparking more business in your head. Daily Motivation
3. Meditation On Foot - This includes the body. It can be outside or just as a step back and forth in a room. As you walk, pay attention to your foot, breathing, and body movements, as well as the feeling that your feet are touching the ground. When your mind wanders, return to walking and breathing. Meditating outside in this way can be difficult because of distraction. If you do it outside you will find a quiet place with flat terrain.
4. Mindfulness Meditation - A practice that Buddhists call Vipassana, or meditation, for gaining insight. Mindfulness is the art of being deeply aware of what is right here. You focus on what is happening in and around you in that moment and you are aware of all the thoughts and feelings that take up your energy from time to time. You can start by paying attention to your breath and then focus on the thoughts that are in your mind, the feelings in your body, and even the sounds and sights around you. The key is to see without judging or analyzing.
5. Simple Mantra Meditation - For many people, it's easier to keep their mind from wandering when they focus on something specific. Mantra can help. This is a word or phrase that you repeat while sitting in meditation and chosen by a teacher skilled in several traditions. When you do it yourself, you can use whatever word or phrase is right for you and you can choose to repeat it aloud or in your head while you meditate. Daily Motivation
6. Meditate On The Concept - Some meditation practices involve thinking about ideas or scenarios. An example is "evanescence meditation", where you focus on the instability of all things, starting with your thoughts and feelings as they come and go. In Buddhist “corpse meditation” you think of a body on the ground slowly decomposing and being fed by worms. This technique is used to guide you to the understanding that your rationalizing thoughts may not lead you.
There are many other meditations you can try such as: B. "Loving Kindness" or "Object" meditation and even meditation with brain wave products. Each type has its advantages and effects. Therefore, you may want to use different types of meditation at different times and for different purposes.
